Meet Fleur
I began my working life as a teacher in secondary education. I love working with young people and as head of department it was my role to support the adults in my team. I found the pastoral and mentoring part of the job the most enjoyable.
I began my counselling training to enhance my teaching skills and my passion for psychology grew as a result. I made the leap to counselling in 2012 after I qualified, working with both young people and adult clients. Initially I worked in various schools and for a bereavement charity before creating my own private practice ‘Kite Counselling’ in 2015.
The name ‘Kite’ symbolises to me the freedom clients are often seeking from their past, present or future worries and the desire to live a more happier and fulfilled life.
To live in JOY is, I believe, your birthright!
As a life long Nature lover and Scout leader it felt like a natural progression to take my therapy practice outdoors. I trained with Hayley Marshall, a well known advocate for Eco-therapy. Nature Therapy is a beautiful way of working together - what we see in our natural environment always magically appears and the experience enhances the therapeutic process for my clients.
As an integrative counsellor I am experienced in using a multitude of different counselling modalities (see below). This means that I have an expansive toolbox of counselling methods that I can use in our sessions. As an experienced therapist I select what I feel is needed depending on my individual client experiencing in the moment.
